Bohemia Manor High School, Chesapeake City, MD: On June 26th the Order of Isshin-Ryu gathered for their annual summer shiai program. The seminar presented on Saturday featured
Master Cooling, Master Ewing, and Sensei Kline. The OI was fortunate
to have Grand Master Tom Lewis, Grand Master Box Maxwell, and Sensei Wayne
Wayland. On Sunday, the shiai got under way, and included some innovative competitions as well as traditional kata and kumite events.

Bohan-Niemira Memorial Tournament: On June 26 a group of OI members traveled to Virginia to attend the Don Bohan & Rick Niemira Memorial Tournament. Gatlinburg, TN - July 26, 2008: For 2008, the Isshin-Ryu Hall of Fame proved to be an excellent weekend for the Order of Isshin-Ryu. Representing the OI were: Master Cooling, Master Ewing, Sensei Ortenzio, Sensei Sullivan and from the Harrisburg, PA Dojo were Sensei Popp, Mr. Robinette, Mr. Wiest and Mr. McNair. Ashcroft, Australia: Four yudansha of the Order of Isshin-Ryu traveled in September to visit Sensei Danny Goding and the OI Australia Dojo. Sensei Diane Ortenzio (Sierra Dojo), Sensei Dan Popp (Harrisburg Dojo), Sensei Adam Knox (West Chester Dojo) and Mr. Robinette (Harrisburg Dojo) enjoyed a week of excellent martial arts training and kata review with our Australian brothers. West Chester, PA: Everything began with a Friday evening seminar by Master Cooling. He covered joint locks and controlling and taking down an aggressor. He was followed by Master Nick Adler. Master Ewing, Senseis Popp and Knox, Mr. Robinette, and myself attended. We enjoyed working with each other as well as with some old friends and new. Click here for the full story & photos.
